After investigating the life of Romero Britto, we decided to look into his inspiration. His main influences on his artwork were Picasso and Matisse.
So you know about a bit about Henri Matisse's work, here is a little information for you...
His aims:
- Discover
the essential character of things
- Produce
art of balance, purity and serenity
- Remove
shadows
- Using
line and colour together- this was not normal in art before
- Show
things the way he saw them instead of trying to draw objectively
Matisse was an important artist in the movement of Fauvism
Characteristics of
Fauvism:
- Spontaneous
and not very tidy
- Allows
for more freedom
- Lots
of bright, primary colours
- Influences
from pointillist painting (painting with dots) and using different layers.
- Feeling
a painting with your eyes instead of seeing it.
- Simple
shapes
- Using
colour to present emotions
Taking all of this into account, here is the artwork produced by class 6A....
I hope you enjoy their work!
